Over the course of three consecutive seasons, Blemaster’s leadership helped his teams to reach the finals venue at Bailey Park in Battle Creek for baseball, the Pontiac Silverdome in football, and the Breslin Center for basketball. As the starting quarterback during his senior season, he set the school record for touchdown passes thrown in a game with six. He also led DeWitt to the Class B state championship game against Three Rivers, while finishing second in the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) State Finals record books in two passing categories. He finished 19-41 with 234 yards passing and one touchdown. Blemaster earned All-League Honorable Mention as a quarterback and was named Lansing State Journal Class B All-Area. He played point guard and served as the floor general for three varsity seasons on the hardwood, earning All-League and All-Area Honorable Mention. As a senior, he guided the Panthers to the Class B state championship game before falling to heavily favored Detroit Renaissance. Blemaster earned four varsity letters in baseball, receiving All-League, All-District, and All-Region honors. He was named Team Most Valuable Player and All-State during his junior and senior seasons. As a junior, he helped the Panthers reach the Class B state semifinals. Blemaster set six school records on the diamond, all of which still stand at the time of his induction. He was chosen as DeWitt’s Male Athlete of the Year in 2004 and was also named the Lansing State Journal Male Athlete of the Year, the first DeWitt athlete to receive that honor. Blemaster later returned to DeWitt, serving several different coaching capacities.
