Presidential elections are held every four years in The United States of America. Election day is November 5th this year. As of November 1st, over 3.8 million of the roughly 7.8 million eligible North Carolinian voters have taken advantage of early voting and cast their choice for not just President (and Vice President) but also for a number of other state and local posts including Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, among others. We explored the requirements for becoming President and found some fun facts about United States Presidents.
Requirements for becoming President of The United States of America:
This means that a naturalized citizen is not eligible to become President of the United States. Martin Van Buren was the first president born an American citizen. He was also the only president for whom English was a second language; his first language was Dutch.
34 years old a great candidate? Sorry! You'll have to wait one more year! The youngest President was Theodore Roosevelt at 42 . The oldest President at the time of his inauguration is Joe Biden at 78.
Virginia is the birthplace of eight presidents, including four of the nation's first five: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and James Monroe. The other four of the state’s presidents came later: William Henry Harrison, Zachary Taylor, John Tyler, and Woodrow Wilson.

Abraham Lincoln stood 6 feet 4 inches tall making him the tallest. He stood 1/2 inch taller than Lyndon B. Johnson.
Shortest US President:
James Madison stood at 5 feet 4 inches tall making him the shortest. Benjamin Harrison and Martin Van Buren were both 2 inches taller.
Longest Serving US President:
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the longest serving US President. He served for 4,422 days (1933-45).
Shortest Serving US President
William Henry Harrison only served 31 days as US President in 1841. He died of pneumonia.
First resident of the White House:
John Adams was the first US President to live in The White House. He and his wife moved in on November 1, 1800.
Longest lived US President:
Jimmy Carter is 100 years old, making him the oldest lived US President by almost 6 years over George HW Bush.
Only President never to marry:
James Buchanan, the 15th President of the US, never married.
Vice-President to President:
Fifteen different Vice-Presidents have become President. The last one to do it was President Joe Biden.
