What brought you to WYWLA?
My dynamics were changing, and I needed to change to accommodate my family.
What is your impression of WYWLA thus far?
It is such a special place to nurture the heart, mind, and spirit of our future leaders.
What is one piece of advice you try to inculcate in students?
Mistakes are not permanent. You can always try again.
Where did you grow up? What were you like as a kid? A young student? Favorite subject growing up? Hobbies?
I grew up in the cradle of the Confederacy - Montgomery, Alabama. As a child, I grew up reserved and shy. My favorite subjects growing up were English and Reading.
What is one fun fact about you?
I love event planning, from parties to weddings and everything in between. I also love arts and crafts.
Where did you graduate from college? Major?
I graduated from Alabama State University with a Psychology major.
What music do you listen to on the way to work? On the ride home? What type of music do you listen to/prefer? Favorite artists/ bands? Favorite songs?
I mainly listen to podcasts, but I’m a church girl, so I listen to gospel/contemporary. I don’t really have a favorite band or artist but definitely a fan of old school R&B.
Are you a cold weather person or a warm weather person? What is your dream vacation?
I’m a warm weather person, and my dream vacation is to visit Italy
Favorite author? Book? Genre?
Don’t have a favorite author, but my favorite genres are Christian/spirituality and self-help books.

What brought you to WYWLA?
I had worked with Mrs. Nelson, and she asked me to substitute teach at WYWLA.
What is your impression of WYWLA thus far?
The school is so unique, and I love that about this program. What I love about this school is that it's based on not only leadership but the overall well-being of each young person, and that’s how this school is so unique.
What is one piece of advice you try to inculcate in students?
Carpe Diem. Seize this opportunity of education in front of you!
Where did you grow up? What were you like as a kid? A young student? Favorite subject growing up? Hobbies?
Garner is my hometown. I was the oldest daughter of immigrants that came from South Korea. As a kid, I knew I was different, and experienced acceptance at Wake Christian Academy. My favorite subject was science, and my favorite hobby was ballet.
What is one fun fact about you?
I was Teen Miss Garner 1988.
Where did you graduate from college? Major?
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill where I had my majored in Public Health.
What music do you listen to on the way to work? On the ride home? What type of music do you listen to/prefer? Favorite artists/ bands? Favorite songs?
CDs of various types…yes, my Mini Cooper still has a CD player. I prefer 90’s pop music and classical music. Sting is my favorite artist, and ‘Fragile’ is one of my favorite songs.
Are you a cold weather person or a warm weather person? What is your dream vacation?
Fall is my favorite season. My dream vacation is any place with my husband, Grayson.
I have a keen interest in autumn. I couldn't care less about where I go, as long as I have my husband beside me.
Favorite author? Book? Genre?
I am drawn to mysteries like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s series on Sherlock Holmes.
