FEBRUARY BETTER TOGETHER
Two eighth graders brought together by their electric personalities continue their middle school journey together. Let's hear their story...
Ruhi and I met in 6th grade and because of our last names, our lockers were right next to each other. Towards the middle of 7th grade Ruhi came to sit at my table for lunch. The only available spot was right beside me, so she sat there. We began to talk to each other more and more and FBLA also brought us closer. Ruhi is headstrong; she knows what she wants, and she doesn't hesitate to get it done. She is also very kind and thoughtful, she always asks me if I'm okay and will do anything to make me feel better. We lift each other up by helping each other, whether that's with school work or making each other feel better. If I need help on an assignment, she will sit down and help me, and I will do the same for her. Ruhi is an amazing dancer and has invited me to watch her perform. I really like being there and supporting her. We also have sleepovers, go to the store and buy a lot of junk food, watch TV, and do TikToks together. Some similarities that we share are that we are both leaders. When it comes to leadership roles during group projects, we are often put in charge of leading our classmates. We also both like watching shows, and although we watch totally different shows, we have one show that we can both watch together: Dance Moms. On the bus, we watch it together, and we rate the dances and laugh at the moms being dramatic.
-Madyson Moore, 8th grade
Madyson and I met in 6th grade, but we became really close in 7th grade. Since we had all the same classes, we ended up spending the entire school day together. On top of that, our last names both start with “M,” so we were always seated next to each other in every class. I also became president of FBLA, and Madyson was in FBLA, so we got closer during meetings. We competed together at States with our friend, where we won first place in our event! I would describe Madyson as funny, outgoing, and very social. She has an effervescent personality that makes her stand out. She’s the type of person who can walk into a room and instantly bring energy and laughter. As a friend, she’s supportive and always knows how to make things more fun, which is why being around her never gets boring. We lift each other up by cheering each other on during games, celebrating achievements, and offering encouragement when challenges arise. We both have big personalities, which makes being together so much fun and full of energy.
