MAY BETTER TOGETHER
Two 7th graders continue their journey with each other as they go through the WYWLA middle school experience, here is their story...
Madyson and I first connected on the 6th day of social studies. We sat next to each other and instantly clicked in the next few days. We started talking in class, sitting next to each other during lunch, and having sleepovers. Now that we are seventh graders we have grown closer as friends. Madyson is energetic, intelligent, caring, and kind. She has been by my side since the 6th grade. She is one of the best friends I could ask for. We often match each other's energy and talk through our feelings if we feel down. Most of the time we work together to solve problems, finish school work, finish wordle, and more. We share lots of similarities too! We love music, challenges, and having fun. We both enjoy sitting on the bus together and talking until we get to the southeast. All these connections make us super close.
-Emily Sanchez, 7th grade
Emily and I originally met at the event for new students coming to WYWLA. We were both in the same 6th-grade group and participated in the activities together. Once school started we only had two classes together, but in both of those classes, we sat together. We became so close because of the two classes we had together. As a friend, I would describe Emily as calm, helpful, friendly, and smart. Emily is the kind of person who will never get mad at you if you do something wrong but instead wants to talk it out with you, which I admire. She is always the one who I can talk to and always knows how to match my energy. The one way we lift each other is by talking to each other. We keep each other in our safe space. If we both have things going on, even outside of school, we always find a time when we can talk to each other. Emily and I are also very different people and have similar and different traits. We help each other whether that is with school, friendships, or sports. We both have different things that we can enforce in each other so we can both be better people, which has only ever brought us closer. Outside of school, we have had a couple of sleepovers together. We love to play Just Dance(Emily always wins!), dance, sing, and cook.
