Better Together is a feature that showcases students who make each better through leadership practices.
Josephine Hernandez Lou and Caison Taylor
are our Better Together pair this month.
Here is their story!
Josie and I met at the beginning of this school year during the first rotation of PE, and we got close pretty quickly. I don’t consider that many people my “best friends” but I feel like she is one, even though we haven’t even known each other a full year yet. She’s super funny and is always a welcome distraction whenever other things become too much. I try my hardest to help her out when she’s struggling but I don't know how well I do. I do know though, that whenever I’m down she always finds a way to distract me or cheer me up. She also has a super cute dog that she ends me pictures of sometimes so that’s very much appreciated.
-Caison Taylor
We first met in the first rotation of PE this year. We had one class together, which was Healthful Living, and we didn’t start talking until the PE rotation because we were sitting across the room from each other. In PE we were able to get to know each other and talk. From there Caison became my fastest friend. Normally it takes a while for me to consider anyone a friend, but Caison became my best friend the fastest I’ve ever seen. From our first meeting in PE we were able to help each other in other classes. We were able to keep each other in check about class work and maintaining balance between life and school. We don’t have too many classes together, so we mostly talk outside of school. I know I can talk to Caison about anything that comes to mind, whether it be lighthearted showerthought or a philosophical question about the nature of humanity, I know Caison will humor me. I would say we are able to make each other happy and help each other through tough times.
