Journey Gobel and Isabela Lewton
are our Better Together pair this month.
Here is their story!
Isabela Lewton and Journey Gobel met in the third grade when Isabela was new to their elementary school. Journey invited Isabela to sit with her on the bus, and by fifth grade the two had progressed from friendly acquaintances to close friends. They say that their friendship is very special because they are different in their own ways and make a good team. Between being friends for so long and being super honest with each other all the time, they have built up a lot of trust. Their friendship is important to them and helps build them up, both in and outside of school. They work very well together for projects, share ideas, know what the other is trying to say when she can’t find the words to explain it, always add on to each other’s ideas, and collaborate with each other having fun sharing their ideas but don’t get off task. According to Isabela they would never let each other fail and aren’t scared to tell when something should be fixed or tweaked. Outside of school the physical distance doesn’t stop them and they still hang out as much as possible. Journey says that they are always talking and laughing, always staying positive. Isabela says that the best thing about Journey is that she’s everything you could ask for in a best friend. Some way or another she is always making Isabela smile. She’s funny and smart and understands Isabela’s hand motions when she is trying to silently tell her something. Journey similarly talks about how Isabela is amazing saying that she is creative, honest, funny and energetic. She is generous and imaginative. She gives good feedback and doesn't just say "That's good", and she gives Journey helpful tips and ideas.
