Conserve to Serve is a new feature sponsored by WYWLA's Green Team.
It will offer insights to ways we can conserve and be better stewards of our planet!
AT WYWLA:
This month, the Green Team is continuing on our theme of increasing environmental education by internally holding conversations and activities about environmental issues and their effects. The team listened to a student presentation about the connections between climate change, individuals, countries and communities. The team continues to create environmental education resources that students will be able to soon access in GLC and WISE groups!
IN THE COMMUNITY:
2000 Magnificent Ramshorn snails have released back into the wild this past month! Each was released into a pond in Brunswick county. These snails, unique to NC aquatic history have been on the brink of extinction, and living in captivity for 20 years. This species of snail are found nowhere else in the world except for the lower Cape Fear Basin. This is a huge step towards the recuperation of these species!
