Matthew 5:48
Be Perfect as Our Father is Perfect
48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Luke 6:37-42
Judging Others
37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
39 He also told them this parable: “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit? 40 The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.
41 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Romans 3:22-26
We Fall Short of the LORD
22 There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Christians follow a Perfect Teacher in Jesus...However, they cannot keep up with His Goodness, and the world wonders why Christians do things such as sinning, when Jesus did not...But in comparing the Christian to Jesus or comparing brother to brother, we are judging...We constantly fall short of the Glory of God...It happens regularly...
Jesus tells us not to judge...And we still do...Yet, most of us fall short in different ways to Jesus, because He was One who did not sin...And we bad sinners wind up holding fast and tight to the Sinless LORD and the Perfect Jesus...And for some reason the world does not understand this...
