God's LOVE and Our Love
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

The Greatest Commandment
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Faith, Hope, and Love
1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. Luke 7:36-50
Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman
36 Now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, so he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.37 When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, 38 and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.
39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.”
40 Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.”
“Tell me, teacher,” he said.
41 “Two men owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42 Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he canceled the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?”
43 Simon replied, “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled.”
“You have judged correctly,” Jesus said.
44 Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45 You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. 46 You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. 47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.”
48 Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
Luke 15:11-32
The Parable of the Lost Son
11 Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. 12 The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them.
13 “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. 14 After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father.
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.
25 “Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 27 ‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’
28 “The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. 29 But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I've been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’
31 “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”
Matthew 5:43-48
Love for Enemies
43 "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Scripture tells us that God is LOVE and that God LOVES this world...And if you believe that this is true and that love can solve most of the problems of the world, then love is a reason to believe in God...And if you believe that God created the heavens and earth then This Fingerprint of LOVE touches all things He created...Love has this Great Power in the world...Love can make us all neighbors, no matter where we live...
As one looks around as he or she grows and ages and asks what really matters in life...Love has to be the number one thing in life that matters above everything else...God LOVES us...And He is Perfect...A Perfect LOVE that will persist until this world is completely full of LOVE and love...So LOVE Persists...And a Perfect LOVE creates harmony in this world...
Jesus tells us that the Two Greatest Commandments of the Bible revolve around love...We are to love God and we are to love each and everyone of our neighbors...Jesus forever links God and man together by love...Jesus taught this that the people we meet each and everyday are our neighbors and those are the ones we are to love...And it is not just some neighbors we are to love, but all neighbors...We are to love each of our neighbors as we love ourselves...
Jesus taught this and other teachings as He traveled from village to village...As on reads the gospels we see that Jesus taught in many of His teachings and parables that God is gentle, kind, caring, and LOVING...Jesus makes us aware in His teachings that God is aware of our flaws and our sins...In the Story of the notorious sinful woman anointing Jesus, we learn that the more we have sinned, the more we can show our love, if we believe in Jesus...The quiet, yet bold and silent sinful woman is a powerful portrait of love and forgiveness...And that is why He sent His Son to us, because He LOVES us and wants us to be saved by Him and have a loving relationship with His Father, like this sinful woman did...Out of God's LOVE, He did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through His Son...So to Jesus, God is there for us wanting a personal, intimate relationship...Even when we badly mess up and sin, like the Prodigal Son...Our Father forgives us...Father runs to His son who was lost and hugs him...The Parable of the Prodigal Son shows the Great LOVE and Grace of God...
God's LOVE and our love is different...As we read about St. Paul's writings on love, he says that LOVE never fails...He adds that love is the greatest virtue, when we look at hope, faith, and love...In St. Paul's wisdom we see that love is the Greatest of the virtues that he has come to know...We are made in God's Image, and that Image is an Image of LOVE, because God is LOVE...Love is the essence of God...And it is possible that St. Paul is speaking of God's LOVE, because God's LOVE has never failed...Man is flawed and does fail...We have seen some who have fallen in love a time ago, and as we look around today, we see those who now are separated...But if God is LOVE and His LOVE never fails then He is constantly persisting, trying, persuading through many different ways for us to love Him and our neighbors more and more...He even wants us to love our enemies...A command to love your enemies, to me is a Divine Command...To love one's enemies, now that does sound like a Perfect LOVE...That command is one that shows we must be persistent, we must be persuading, if we are going to love our enemies...
Forgiveness is a part of love...And if we are going to love our enemies we are going to have to learn to forgive...God forgives those who man might consider unworthy...But God forgives the unpardonable...And we very much see this in the LOVE and forgiveness of the sinful woman for Jesus, and in the Parable of the Prodigal Son...
So if we believe in the Word of God then let us Love the Lord your God with all of our heart and with all of our soul and with all of our mind....And if we love your neighbor as ourselves...Then we can believe that all the Law and the Prophets, and the Bible hang on these two commandments...All the Bible hangs on this Power of LOVE...
