Matthew 5:48
God is Perfect
48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
God created us...He is the most important thing of all...He is LOVE...He is Almighty...He does not change...He is perfect and good...God is truth, divine truth, Absolute Truth...There is only one God...He is full of grace...He is perfectly moral...These are part of the attributes of God...He sets our good moral standards...This is His nature...
Have you ever done something not quite right or argued with a friend or spouse and felt bad?...When you hurt someone you love, how do you feel?...Why do you think you feel bad?...We could feel good and laugh after an argument...Who is stopping you from feeling good after doing something wrong?...Why do we feel the way we feel after an argument with a friend or spouse?...The is no human law against one feeling happy after an argument with a friend or spouse...We all want to feel good, and good about ourselves, so just feel good after an argument...But maybe there is a law, a moral law, a law that God has put in our nature...Why we feel the way we do, is because God created us...We are made in His image...God gives us a Holy Spirit...He is perfect...
Jesus tells us to perfect, like God our Father is perfect...Being perfect is impossible, but that is not the point...Man knows he ought to be perfect, but we also know we can't be perfect...God made us...We are His children...He sent His Son to die for us...His Son is perfect...His Son performed miracles, died for our sins, and taught about following His Father...He came to forgive our sins, and we seen how moral He was...We are to be like His nature, like His Son...No one earth has ever made God more a central part of their life than Jesus...
God created us...As part of His plan, a millennium later, He sent His Son to earth, and called Him Immanuel, which means God with us...God sent His Son for us, to die for us...Since God opens up to us through His Son, then we can come to Him and be like Jesus, or at least, more like His Son...When we realize that God created us, and is with us, then we realize the more we are like Jesus than we think...Our nature is to be like Him...Our nature is to be perfect...And the more God is in our lives the better we can become...
