Matthew 5:43-48
Jesus Teaches Us to Love Our Enemies
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Jesus LOVED His enemies and teaches about it...Jesus teaches us that we should love our enemies and pray for them...When we do we are children of God...We should be forgiving of those we call enemies...Forgiveness is key, to changing our relationship with an enemy...He does not say that this is an easy task...So let us forgive others, as Jesus has forgiven the flaws and sins in us...
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. thought there were ways to help us with loving our enemies...He thought we should look inside ourselves and realize we to are not perfect and flawed...There is some good in each of us, and we should find that in our enemies...When we are in a position to harm or defeat our enemies, we should not do it...Forgiveness is a catalyst that helps create a better atmosphere necessary for a fresh start and a new beginning with that relationship of someone we think as an enemy...
Dr. Martin Luther King said: "We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive...He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love...There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us...hen we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies."...
