Mathew 5:43-45
Love Your Enemies
“[Love for Enemies] "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”
Jesus teaches us to love our enemies...Even though we have all heard and at times feel and want to hate our enemy...Jesus' teaching was different and had to be hard...Forgiving, putting others ahead of us, loving, and being righteous are some of the things Jesus taught...He and our Father just want us to be good...How easy to say and sometimes so difficult to do...When you cannot do what Jesus teaches, pray to Him and ask for His assistance and help... Remember what Paul said when he was on trial with Festus...The argument is over believing Jesus is alive and not dead...Remember when Festus said St. Paul's dispute with the Jews was over a dead man named Jesus, who (St. Paul) says is alive (when St. Paul was on trial)...Well, Jesus was alive then and still alive today...
