Matthew 5:13-16
Jesus is Our Salt and Light on Earth
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Jesus is One who is always looking to help others...He is the One who comes to us when others are not there, when we feel isolated, and alone...He is the One who was beside the adulteress when she needed Him most...He was with the woman who had suffered for many years and all she wanted to do was touch His cloak...He was the One who healed the Canaanite woman's daughter, when she felt no one else could...He is the One who stood alone with Pilate, while the crowd jeered for Him to be crucified...He is our Salt and our Light while we are on earth...Jesus let His Light shine before others and gives the world a Divine Peace that is not of this world...
Jesus is the One who is the Light...And His Light shows up so Bright, that some are blinded by the Light and don't understand and do not come as close as they should to the One who is like the Salt and Light of this world...Jesus is the Light of this world...Even two thousand years ago a town built on a hill could not be hidden...Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl...Instead people must put it on its stand, and then we can see that the Light is given to everyone in the house...In the same way, He showed us His Light to others...We read about and His Disciples saw His good deeds and glorified His Father in heaven...And before He went to the cross, He was to be glorified by His Father...The hour had come....Jesus was to be glorified so that God's Son could glorify His Father...For God had granted Him authority over all people that He might give eternal life to all those that His Father had given Him....Now this is eternal life: that we may know God, the Only True God, and Jesus Christ, whom God had sent...Jesus had finished His work on earth and the time of the cross was at hand...And so, God Glorified Him by Resurrecting Him with the glory He had with His Father before the world began...
Jesus is the World's Salt and Light...Salt is known to enhance the flavor and the Light helps us see things better...His Salt and Light give us an Abundant Life...Jesus is Completely committed to being the Salt and Light in the world...He used His Teachings and His actions to make the Most Positive Impact on the lives of others....He is the Way to God and thus the Way to Heaven...He makes the world a better place, one person at a time...We are the witnesses to the Salt and Light...We are to humbly live a life that others will see and notice that the Salt and Life are a big part of our lives...Salt and Light are the True Way of Life, the Way to Heaven, the Only Way to Heaven...We read the gospels and see how His Life glorified His Father in Heaven...
