Matthew 5:27-30
Adultery
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
John 3:16-21
God LOVES the World and Sent His Son for our Sinful Ways
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
It is the idea of sinning and all the thoughts of sinning that Jesus is teaching about here in His lesson on adultery...Jesus says anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart...So we have sinned already in our hearts, before the actual physical sin has happened...
God hates sin...But could it be possible that God is how one views sin than the actual sin itself, because He knows we are going to sin?...I do not think that God is waiting around and wondering if we are going to sin or not and then is ready to punish us for that sin...He already knows what we will do and when we will sin...But, is God looking in our hearts after we sin and see how we feel about it and Him...God did send Jesus to forgive us of our sins and to help us with our sinful nature...Jesus showed us how to live and not sin, while we continue to sin and have fallen far short of His Glory...Jesus died for our sins...
When we sin, I believe He wants us to confess to those sins...The sins that we commit as He watches are not impacting Him in the way that it impacts us or the others that we have sinned against...He is still the Living God and continues to LOVE us, even after all the sinning man has done...His LOVE is why He sent His Son to die for our sins...Maybe, it is the love in one's heart and how one feels in the heart after they have sinned that God and His Son are watching...
