The eagle is massive and has no fear of you or anything. His wingspan is so great it is the source of all the winds that blow through the realms of men. He uses his skills adeptly, creating a great gale that stops you and the Stag from coming too close.
Still you persist, yelling over the howling winds and trying to reason with the great predator. It is clear he is not interested in your reasons, nor is he interested in listening at all.
Your bravery catches the attention of the god Freyr, who appreciates your attempt to take on the mythical creature despite being poorly armed for the task. He offers you Freyr’s Armament, should you choose to continue on this journey, and extends his blessing to two Rukaan, Elsdyr S-024 and Birger S-025 with antlers which haven’t previously been seen in Midgard.
Introducing fallow and moose antlers to Fields of Valhalla!
Making no headway, you retreat downwards to regroup. It takes two sides to carry on a conflict, the Stag of the West reasons. If the Eagle cannot be persuaded to back down, perhaps the serpent Nidhogg can.
You venture down towards Yggdrasil’s roots with the Stag and the Doe. The heavy darkness as you descend, far away from the sun weighs down on your spirits as much as your eyes.
It is a long journey through scratching branches and needles, but you make your way to Yggdrasil’s massive roots. In the darkness you can just make out the squirming shape of a serpent who smells of death and decay. You can see hints of the damage he has caused to Yggdrasil’s roots, tearing at them and leaving great gouges and scars to rot.
He doesn’t look much more amenable to reason or threat of violence than the Eagle, but you have to try.
Confront the serpent.
