This page goes into some of the goals, reasoning and motivation behind how the group is designed and run.
We aim to make a group that is fun for our members.
Everyone makes mistakes! The role of admins is to help you learn how to navigate our system, not to scold you for overlooking something. Admins pledge to always be friendly, understanding and ready to offer help.
We hope to always be generating new features, achievements and activities so that existing members always have more to do and explore.
We have attempted to make a game with the flexibility to play with multiple characters without feeling like you're forced to repeat yourself.
We have attempted to create a variety of activities that give you the freedom to play the game in whatever way you find enjoyable.
We have attempted to create activities that do not require grinding. Most non-rare items can be gotten in a fairly small number of attempts if you pay close attention to the drop lists for each activity prompt.
We have attempted to avoid features like Breeding Rites which require repeated completion of the same limited set of specific prompts. The only group feature like this is the Lore Storyline, which is fully optional and is best suited to be completed by a single character per player.
We provide prompt sets which can be combined with activities to give you a chance to develop your characters and find inspiration for art and stories.
We aim to make a group that is fair for our members.
As much as possible, all areas are processed in order from oldest to newest so no one is left waiting longer than anyone else.
Mistakes are inevitable, from admins as well as members (we're all human here!). We are eager to rectify admin errors, please post to the help and fixes journal to bring them to our attention.
Admins work from detailed, step-by-step admin guides so that everything is processed in the same way, no matter which admin takes care of the request.
Admins do not get special treatment.
Admins get all requests processed in the same way as all other members.
Admins cannot process their own requests to ensure there is outside oversight of every action.
Admins abide by the same group rules as all members.
Admins gain a small amount of admin rewards for volunteering their time, and all of these rewards are restricted to items that are possible for members to earn in-game.
We want to avoid the game having an economy where only players who can spend real currency have access to the nicest things.
For the activities with the best rewards, entries generally must be created by the owner and cannot be commissioned.
Many of the rarer items in the game can only be earned in game through activities, rankings, and achievements. Some cannot be transferred between players or sold for currency.
With the exception of a single fundraiser companion, every item in the game can be earned in game and does not have to be purchased with currency.
Fundraisers are infrequent, occurring no more than once every year or two. There are limits on the number of items each player may purchase.
We have seen other communities grow toxic over money and will do everything possible to avoid having that happen here. Please view this group and your characters as a game to be enjoyed and not as a monetary investment.
We aim to not penalize artistic creativity or restrict anything based on artistic skill.
Everyone starts somewhere, and not everyone has access to the same tools. We do the best we can to keep the group accessible and do not penalize design or art submissions based on ability.
We've done our best to create a Rune Marks point system that rewards effort. There is no truly objective way to asses the time and energy another individual has put into creating a piece, but we've done the best we can to create a system that rewards additional effort without judgement based on artistic skill or style.
The point system has built-in leeway for things like abstract backgrounds and unusual perspectives. If there's anything else you think should be allowed please submit to suggestions so we can try to accommodate.
We aim to minimize stress and give plenty of warning before changes occur.
Events which require an art or literature entries will always remain open for at least six or eight weeks to give people time to enter. We do not give extensions on deadlines as we leave events open for a long time and it itsn't fair for those who made an effort to meet the deadline.
When a change is coming up like a change in seasonal battle opponents, a change to achievement requirements or a change in show/feat classes, it will be posted at least two or three weeks ahead of time so players have time to prepare.
We welcome feedback.
