Spring: March to May
Abandoned town on the rocky shore with blooming wildflowers
Brekkathorpe is a barren and abandoned shoreside town- except in spring where the heavy rains wash some of the salt from the soil and the slopes are a riot of wildflowers. The rocky hills along the sea are littered with ruins of long abandoned wood and stone buildings which temporarily get overgrown with spring flowers. The vegetation is fleeting and will be gone with the first hint of summer heat so enjoy it while you can.

Summer: June to August
Mountain clearing, troll settlement
When the highest mountain passes between the Blizzard Peaks melt back in summer, this rocky packed-snow clearing can be accessed. It is a troll place, decorated in hung bones and boulders with dark dyed spiral patterns. Skirted by trees that didn't grow here naturally, the place is known for hosting campfires and bonfires for as long as it is reachable. Be careful, just because this is a trading ground where outsiders can trade with trolls does not mean the trolls are friendly.

Autumn: September to November
Red and golden autumn woods, rustic log cabins
A wooded valley along the Merilian river watershed known for rustic log cabins, foresters, carpenters, orchards, and spectacular autumn foliage displays. The residents gather together for an annual Fallfeast celebration that brings harvest-time visitors from miles around, especially the agricultural areas of the Merilian plains. Sparsely populated by humans most of the year, tame and wild Rukaan flock to see the famed golden forest at its visual peak.

Winter: December to February
Ice cavern with hot springs
The mass of ice nestled between the Blizzard Peaks are known as the Starglint Glaciers. These massive, slow moving ice formations reach their yearly peak size in late winter. Underneath lie several hot springs which melt pockets of ice, leaving ice caverns under the glacier’s surface if you can reach them. The ice can be truly dazzling when the sun shines on them, and are often a vivid blue from within. Because they are constantly melting and refreezing the caverns and caves never look the same, and the ways in and out are also ephemeral. In winter they may serve as a temporary refuge for those trying to escape the brutal winds of the Blizzard Peaks but there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to find a way in (or, if you stay too long, a way out). If you’re in the right place at the right time you might find some old treasure long frozen in the ice and recently revealed.
