Rukaans display a variety of coat types. For the most part they have a short coat with some longer fur around the neck and withers, but Rukaans in some colder climates have been noted to thrive with heavier coats for warmth. These longer coats are often seen as more favorable among tame Rukaan breeders as well for their striking appearance.
These body/coat types are inherited and the Rukaan must have them in their geno to show them.

When breeding, the rarer coat types are less likely to pass than common coat types, so it is always wisest to breed rarer coat types together if you are aiming for them to pass.
