Suitability: World class open granite terrain. Many large rock slabs. A truly beautiful area.
Land Manager: Parks Victoria (part of Kooyoora State Park)
Access Issues:
No vehicular access into park.
Assembly sites:
Parking along the rough track up the road reserve that leads into the western edge of the park. Track comes off the Wehla-Wedderburn Rd, marked by a green mailbox. Shown with purple triangle on map below. The track is congested near the park boundary so parking should be 500 metres back to the west. Those unable to drive the rough track can park on the Wehla-Wedderburn Rd. Competitor instructions.
Safety Issues:
Land adjacent to dwelling next to park entrance should be avoided. It appears to have been used in the past as a shooting range for high powered rifles.
Some steep rock slabs that will be slippery when wet.
