Suitability: A mix of a hill and some complex sluice and gravel pit terrain in the north.
Land Manager: DEECA
Access Issues:
Sensitive land owners on the northern edge of the map. Suspicious of anyone that looks like a prospector that might encroach their land. This particularly applies to the landowner on the western end of Burnt Creek.
Assembly sites:
Along the Betley Road. Traffic is heavier here so not a preferred option except a small event. Competitor instructions.
Low Slump Dumps - ie the Dunnolly Tip Road. Quiet with little traffic. This is Unallocated Public Land. Used in the 2025 Easter carnival. Competitor instructions.
Timor-Bromley Rd in the south of the map. A long way from the main action of this map. Competitor instructions.
Safety Issues: The main north south road can be busy.
Map status: Mapped in 2021 by Neil Barr using a 2010 lidar base and a gps enabled tablet. One update to deal with compliance issues and changes in water levels.
