Map suitability: Typical Bendigo gully-spur with scattered mining detail. The map shape (long and thin) makes course setting more challenging than normal. Sort of suited to middle distance and relay.
Land Manager: Most land is managed by Parks Victoria. The Crusoe Heights oval is managed by City of Greater Bendigo.
Access issues:
Assembly sites:
Crusoe Heights Reserve. Public toilets and bitumen parking for 40-50 cars. Its a fair distance from the interesting terrain though. Use requires permission from City of Greater Bendigo. Competitor instructions.
Carcoola Drive. Dirt road access, and a moderate number of car parks available. In the midst of the best terrain. Competitor instructions.
Tarr Road. Dirt road access, and a limited number of car parks available near main gully. Competitor instructions.
Safety Issues: Busy roads north and south with 100k speed limit mean entry and exit in some locations requires care.
Map status: Mapped 2016 from lidar base by Neil Barr. Symbol update to ISOM17-2 December 2022
