Map suitability: Suitable for a small event with shorter courses. Excellent venue for introductory events in particular.
Land Manager: Most managed by Parks Victoria. A modest area in the north east of the map is managed by the Koolamurt Scout Camp.
Access issues: The area is heavily used by mountain bikers. Best to keep controls off their formal tracks.
Assembly sites:
Only remaining assembly area for local events is at the end of Wattle Drive Spring Gully. Parking for over 60 vehicles in a heavily used parking area. It might be best to check if there is a competing Mountain Bike event on as they would use the same parking. Competitor instructions.
Connelly's Track. Limited parking and very rough access. No longer suitable.
Track leaving the bend in Hollidays Rd. No longer suitable.
Good parking in Koolamurt scout camp. This needs to be booked with the camp management well in advance.
Safety Issues:
Map status: Mapped and remapped a number of times by club members. We lost control of versions. Remapped by Chris Creely in 2010 using a lidar base. To my knowledge no updates since. If you have any please contact Neil Barr.
