Map suitability: Typical box-ironbark spur gully terrain. Little used because of the limited options for assembly areas.
Land Manager: DEECA
Access issues:.
Assembly sites:
1- There is parking suitable for a local event (and no more) at the intersection of Patons Rd and Girvans Track. There is room for 15 cars along an unnamed track south of Patons Rd along the private land boundary. A further 6 cars can be parked in the small area at the intersection of Girvans track and Patons Rd. A further 4 can be parked along Girvans track before it narrows. Overflow parking is possible along Patons Rd but this should be avoided if possible due to the higher speed of traffic. Competitor instructions.
2- A large clearing off Currie Track capable off Currie Track capable of holding 50+ cars. Access can be problematic, particularly in wet weather. The route suggested by Google is 4wd, and potentially impassable in the wet. Alternative access via either end of Currie Track is described in the competitor instructions.
3 - Intersection of Girvans and Tracey Tracks. Space for 15-20 cars with careful parking. Suitable only for a small event. Competitor instructions.
4 - Girvans Track Picnic area. This location has several advantages: all weather road access along Girvans Track, parking for 50+ vehicles and closer to the better terrain. Competitor instructions.
