Map suitability: The best terrain for red line course setting. Home of the Noodle Award. Something is special about this map, with its strategically placed mix of flat vague areas leading into areas of parallel gullies. The improved lidar derived contours may help orienteers.

Godfreys Rd has good parking and on a dead end road. Well placed to exploit the most challenging terrain. Competitor instructions.
Doles Rd. Parking on one side of Doles Rd between Godfrey Track and Mechan Rd. This is the safest option as it allows drivers cresting the hill to the north a good view of the parked vehicles. Competitor instructions.
3,4 Magpie track is no longer suitable.
Safety Issues: This map has a tendency towards lost orienteers. Ensure safety bearing is on map.
Map status: Mapped by John Bloomfield in 1988. That makes the map almost 30 years old.. Tracks and georeferencing by Neil Barr in 2020. In January 2023 a new version with new contours and vegetation from 2020 lidar, with tracks and point features from 2020 update.
