Previous names: Apollo Hill. Part of Peter the Great Gully map.
Map suitability: A gently sloped area with many tracks, made suitable for orienteering by the widely scattered mining point features and at times limited visibility. All control sites will be on these point features as the land form contours are too vague for control placement. Suitable for red line or simple middle distance style course setting A seasonal highlight is the Whirakee wattle blossom time in August. In full bloom the northern part of the map is bathed in swathes of dense yellow.

Access issues: Many previously driveable tracks in the south have deteriorated.
Assembly sites:
Adelaide Hills Road. Sufficient parking for 25-30 cars at the main intersection or another 20 further to the west along Adelaide Hills Rd. . Please avoid blocking the entrance to the private land to the north. This paddock is used for horse agistment and on weekends multiple horse owners use the gate. Competitor instructions.
Eaglehawk-Neilborough Rd. Parking for a 29 cars at the marked intersection. Further overflow parking along tracks emanating from here. Competitor instructions.
Safety Issues: Some deep mine shafts in the central area of the map. Do not use as control sites.
Map status: First mapped by Neil Barr in the early 2000s. Re-mapped by Neil Barr in 2016 using a 2010 lidar base.
