Scrub potatoes clean with a brush. After they are washed, dry them on paper towels, then pierce them with a fork.
After the potatoes are dried and pierced, place them on a foil lined sheet pan. Spray (or rub) the potatoes with olive oil. Generously sprinkle the potatoes with kosher salt. Place the potatoes in a preheated 375 degree F oven for 1 hour. The length of cooking time for baked potatoes varies depending on the size of the potatoes. Really large potatoes may take longer. Bake them until they are soft.
Serve with butter, sour cream, chives, bacon bits, shredded cheese, or other toppings of choice.
