Photoshop Self Portrait

For this project I had to take a photo of myself and turn it into a comic self portrait. We took the photos and uploaded them into different apps (I used acorn for this one). I then had to learn the tools of this app in order to make my photo look like something from a comic book. That meant blocking in colors and shades so they were solid patches of color. I had never done any digital drawing and I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it. It was certainly different than anything I'd done before.

I didn't use any materials for this project because it was done digitally. I guess that my computer could count as it was the only thing I used to complete this project.

This was kind of a fun and interesting process. I had never done any computer artwork before so this was very new to me. I started off by outlining the most important details of the photo in a thicker line and then I outlined the areas of shading in the thinnest line I could make so that it wouldn't show up when I added the color. Then I used the eyedropper tool which allowed me to use the actual colors from the photo in the drawing. I filled in the areas of different shades with their respecting colors and then it was done. I enjoyed working on this project and I asm really satisfied with the way it turned out.
