Cut Paper Relief

This project had many parts to it. I had to cut out the building using a Cricut machine to learn a new and "easier" way to cut out shapes without using an exacto knife. I cut the front buildings out and painted them because I wanted them to be realistic and I used black paper backed with yellow to make it seem as though the windows were lit up. I did the same thing on the painted buildings. Lastly, I cut out a large circle and painted it to look like a sunset.

I used a variety of materials on this project. I used two kinds of paper, water color and construction. I used water color paint on the front buildings and the background. The background also has a small amount of white gel pen which I used to create the stars. The material that is used to make to buildings stand out from the background is layered pieces of foam board.

This was not an easy project. The Cricut Design app refused to function on my laptop but fortunately I was able to complete most of my project before the major issues started and then finished it on another device. I don't think that I will be using Cricut any time soon. However, despite the difficulty I had with this project, the end result was decent.
