Time Capsules

For this assignment I had to create three pieces of artwork that followed some specific guidelines. Those were to draw my hand, a cropped self portrait, and an object I relied on or was of great value. The hand is fairly self-explanatory but other two could do with a little explanation. For my cropped self portrait I chose to do my eye because I am not very good at drawing people but I knew that I could draw eyes. For the object I chose to draw my dog because he means the most to me out of everything I own or am around often.

I used normal graphite pencils on the dog drawing and hand drawing. On the drawing if my dog I used a tortillon to blend the pencil and made it loom less of a sketch and more like a finished drawing. For thy eye I used water colors. I wanted that one to be in color because I knew that I could paint it better than I could draw it.

I went into this project with a solid idea of what I was going to do. I stuck to my idea almost exactly so there wan't really any evolution in my project. I was surprised by how good these came out considering the short amount of time I spent on them and there isn't anything I would like to change or add to them.
