Artist Statment:
For all three watercolor paintings, I took photographs of places around my house and used them as reference photos. I like using watercolor to make simple things, or weird looking animals and creatures. In all media, I have a hard time making things look realistic, sso this was a challenge for me.
I used watercolor on watercolor paper to make these
For each one, I started with a photo and a blank piece of paper. For Wires, I made a sky and a base color for the trees and grass. I painted over those after drying with different colors to try and make them look more worn out or dead in some spots. I then flicked red paint to make flowers, and drew power likes. El Arbol started the same way, and after the base for the trees dried I spilled water all over the paper by accident. I made the grass by putting paint in the water and I put trees over the places I dident want grass. Los Arboles was also the same, however I added pavement at the bottom. Making the leaves different colors was fun cause I wasent stuck with using green and brown for a bunch of it.
