Mixed Media Contour Design

Artist Statement:

My task was to create a finished piece of art using contour and blind contour images of my creation.

To create this I used watercolor, watercolor paper, black pen, salt, and gold flakes.

I started off by making a few blind contours of a friend, sibling, butterfly, and parent. I cut them out and used a knife to remove larger white parts. I used watercolor and salt to create a background and then glued the contours on the paper. I used a few print out butterflies and glued them to the page aswell. I added blue and orange to the faces and butterflies to remove some of the white, and finally I added gold leaf and smaller butterflies flying around to add more to the background.
