Map Design

Artist Statement:

My goal was to create something that incorporated a path that I took one day or another. I chose the path that I take at school on a maroon day. 

I used an Ipad and pencil along with a digital drawing app.

I started off by drawing a line or path for the beginning of my design. I then tried to turn it into something. I was thinking either a wonky looking cat thing or a candle. I turned the design upside down and drew a candle tracing over the given lines. I dident really know what to do after that so I ended up shrinking the candle and going with the flow. I used an airbrush and screen dodge setting to duplicate the image and make a different colored background. I duplicated it yet again and added a small flicker to the candle and an airbrush to make it look like it was glowing. lastly I added a border in black and shaded it to fade into the drawing.
