Artist statement:

This picture was based off of gatophobia, the fear of cats. It spurs from bad confrontations with cats, and superstitions like black cats are bad.

I used colorful yarn and black ink to make this.

I started with a sketch simmilar to the one I did in my sketchbook, but erased it because I just didn't like it. I re drew it in a pose facing forward, and a dead mouse under its paw. I changed the neck to fill in the white space. The entire thing is a compilation of straight lines facing different directions. I used yarn at the end instead of drawing a mouse to include materials connecting to the topic. I definitally like it more before I added the yarn, but I do like the color pop.
