Acrylic on Glass

For this piece, I was challenged to paint an image using three tints, and three shades of all colors on the color wheel including primary, secondary, and tertiary. In total it was 84 colors. I wanted to include my family and friends in this painting, as well as trying out a newer medium than I am used to, which is glass.

To create this, I used Primary colored acrylic paint along with black and white, a black alcohol marker, and a sheet of glass and a frame.

I started off by printing out an image of my family and friends with each of the children of the group sitting on a couch with DIY grinch pillows. I redrew the image on a seperate sheet of paper, than traced the redrawn image on a plate of glass with a black marker. I filled in each section of the glass with a different color on the color wheel, and finished it off by painting the back of the glass black to fill in the lines.
