Colored paper and tape on fabric

Artist Statement:
I wanted to make a character who was standing on a counter or desk like thing away from a cat, like how people jump on tables when they see a mouse.
I used cut fabric from an old cat bed, and I ironed it to make it flat and usable. I also used tape for parts of the background because my cats like to play with tape balls. I used marker and pen to make the character and cat, and cut them out with a knife.
I started with a sketch and I had liked how it was. When I started coloring it in I ran out of the pink marker I was using so I tried to make it look intentional by "blending" it with green and moving on from there. I cut out the cat and character and glued them both to the fabric, forgetting that I still had stuff to add to the background. When I was trying to peel them off, I accedentally ripped the neck apart on the character but I was able to glue it together.
