Beautiful Oops

Artist Statement:

I had to turn a blob of black ink into something. I decided to make it a weird deer thing (skull). I tried to make it look as creepy as I could, and the balloon is supposed to represent how scary things can still be sweet.

I used Ink and pencil to make this. I used black in the beginning just for the outline and shading, and I decided to add red ink in the end to add a little bit of pop.

In the beginning, I was going to make a row of grenades cause if I flipped the paper upside down, it looked like a bomb. I sketched it out and it didn't seem like something I would draw, so I tried to think of something different. I saw part of a leg and decided to make it some sort of tall creature. I drew out the legs first, and added onto it. I drew it origionally with the creature just standing. I changed it to be hunched over and reaching to a balloon to give it some character. There was red ink in the cabinet with the inks and I thought it would be fun to experement with different colors.
