Kaleidoscope

Artist statement:

photo 1.

For this assignment we took one of our photos and used photoshop to turn it into a kaleidoscope looking image. I choose to create this image because I thought the original image already had alot of depth and pattern and could look cool if it was turned into a kaleidoscope.

This project evolved alot throughout me making it. First I had to learn how to make it and get more comfotable with photoshop and then I played with the different color adjustments at the end to bring out the colors and shades of the photo.

This project relates to my life because the flower is in my back yard and my mom works really hard to get them to grow and this year it turned out really pretty so I am glad I took and used this photo of it. One area where I struggled was overall just using photoshop is a bit of a challenge for me so I definitely had to follow the instructions carefully.

Photo 2.

I didn't exactly know how this photo would turn out because it is more of a landscape photo but it turned out a bit better than I expected.

This assignment experience was similar to the one before, however, it was fun to make another one. I like how this photo looks kind of like a quilt.

Overall, I had a few issues with photoshop and my scratch disks but it was helpful to have a bit more practice with the app.
