Gelli Whale print

The main idea that guided my art work is that I wanted to make a scene or somthing that could be reconglnized out of this gelli print that I had made. however I still knew that it would be a little bit abstract and different. I liked the idea of doing a whale and a boat because I thought that the shapes would look cool and it was a good way to use the edges of the page.

the materials that I used for this artwork is I used a gelli base, then I rolled blue ink paint on it. After that I took random objects and placed then on the gelli block base and then put paper over it to make a first print. After this I took the objects off and made another print witch is how the print has all of the textures of the objects.

The process that I went through bettween my idea to my finished piece is at first I thought that I would make the print add on's look like a city because of the shapes that were in the picture. Then as I kept looking at it something looked a little off. I contuied to turn the paper different ways until I came up with this idea of a whale under a boat.
