water color, guache,

the main idea that guided my artwork is that I wanted to do a bright painting with color and hight to it. I decided to do the coral reef because they have lots of color in them and are a place that lots of sea creators live around. I also wanted to do coral because they come in all different weird shapes, colors and sizes and it is hard to believe that they are actual animals.

The materials that I used where watercolor and guache. I used these two materials because I thought that they blended well together to show the textures and colors of the coral and the water.

The process that I went through from my idea to my finished piece was first I thought that I was going to make a single sea anemone and try to do it super up close and realistic. Then I decided to do something different and do a less detailed version of multiple corals. I decided to do that because I wanted to use more of a variety of shapes and colors mainly because I thought it would be boring just to do one with the same color, shape and size.
