Fairies

water color, pen, pencil, colored pencil

10x7

My favorite part of this artwork is the fairies because I think that they add a fun element to the artwork. I also think that they go really well with all of the colors. My least favorite part of this artwork is there are some smudges around the fairies from when I messed up and it makes the lines of the fairies look less clean. My inspiration for creating this piece of artwork is my sister's light switch. My sister's light switch has a bunch of fairies on it with a colorful background and that is what made me think of drawing this artwork. Something that I would change if I were to create this artwork again is I would not use pen because on some of the small fairies the lines of the pen made the lines look thicker than they were. Some of the concepts that I earned while creating this artwork is how to fade out watercolors. I had a lot of fun experimenting with the watercolors and fading them out to make them less bright. Something about this artwork that surprised me is how much fun watercolors are. I really liked using them for this artwork. To create this artwork I first looked at a bunch of leaves and then I drew only the negative space of the leaves. Next, I started to draw the fairies lightly with a pencil. After that, I went in and started to draw the watercolors and add color to the fairies cloths. Lastly, I darkened some of the lines.
