2D design

Some of my favorite art work that I created in this class are the SI #2 , the circle project and the beautiful oops. I liked making all of these artworks because I got to use different colors and materials to convey the image that I had envisioned. One assignment that I struggled with was the duck stamp. I struggled with this because it was hard to make the duck look as realistic as possible. I had to try and learn how to use colored pencil to show the detail in the duck. Even though it was a project that I struggled with I like how it turned out, mainly because of the way the water looks like it is moving and the shadow adds more realism to the artwork.

Something that I learned in this class was how to use different materials to convey your idea and show things like texture and dimension. Learning and experimenting with the different materials that you can use to make one piece of art was interesting and fun because it helped me create more authentic artwork that replicated the idea that I had thought of.

Something that I improved on is paying attention to detail and knowing when to add more. I learned different ways to work on where I put detail and different ways to execute it. One example of this is in SI #2, I used less detail on the background and more on the whale.

One way that my work illustrates growth as an artist is I can see how my artwork evolved in using more detail and better use of materials. My work at the end of the year overall shows better attention.

Something that I will continue to do in my artwork is I will make sure to think about what materials and methods I can use before I start making my artwork. This will help me be able to have a cleaner image of what I am making and overall I will have a more meaningful deeper artwork.
