DAY 32

WARM-UP:

1. CM - Center of Mass

For the two sets of masses drawn on the board, where would you locate the CM? Give your answer by writing the location in cm of where you think the CM would fall. Keep in mind the ruler is uniform density.

2. Other than picking it up, how can you move a textbook on a table? There are at least two ways...

3. Newton's 2nd law is represented by a=Fnet/m

In this equation, is the relationship between acceleration and force directly proportional or inversely proportional?

Same question, except now consider acceleration and mass

Complete the FBD Practice H/0

GOALS: SWBAT...

- Prove to Mr. A that you have enough Geometry skillz to solve Physics problems

- Define "Resultant"

- Solve problems with forces in two dimensions

WARM-UP & HW CHECK (pg 113 #68, 69, 70, 71)

1. Compare the force holding a 10.0kg rock on the Earth and on the Moon. Acceleration on the moon is                  1.62m/s2

2. If force A is 200N directly to the right, and force B is 100N directly upward, what is the the Net Force (resulting combination of the two forces)?

    a. Draw and FBD

    b. Solve for the Net Force (magnitude and direction)
