Rinse whatever you can before you start
Create a triage area and separate items: pots, glasses, forks, etc.
Fill the sink with warm water and add some dish soap - assuming you have only one sink space, you must put a stopper
Glasses first. Then silverware. Then Dishes. Then Pots and Pans. Then the kitchen. Clean to dirty.
Sponge each item clean and place in second sink or place back down from left to right side of sink to remember what has been cleaned
Rinse with lukewarm water and feel for stuff that's not washed completely and in those cases do again.

Drain, dry and put away...
