With a spouse out on the town for the $20.10 restaurant week deal, the offspring request, on the phone at work at 5:45 pm tonight, was for spaghetti and red sauce at home. By 7 pm, my favorite from-scratch sauce was covering fresh pasta and the best-tasting incredible Chicken Parmesan I have had. Served with grated pecorino romano cheese, wilted spinach with a lemon squeeze, red wine, and lightly toasted slices of oven-fresh, still warm Italian bread with butter, this is seriously good stuff.
Hearing, thinking, driving, shopping, cooking and serving an appreciative audience from-scratch food not available at restaurant week? Good.
This dinner in just over an hour from my desk at work with no stress? Priceless.
