Artist Statement

The subject of this image is a bird. The image was made by making a collage, scanning it, iverting it, printing a sheet and developing it in the darkroom. I chose this specific image because I wanted to have a collage with animals in it because of my inspired artist, Eadweard Muybridge.

High horizon and low key lighting are shown in my collage. My project evolved because I originally had no idea what I wanted to do, so I made it less like my inspiration and just made the specific animal the subject and had a cool landscape behind it; because my artist he was also world famous for his landscape photos.

This photo doesn’t really have a deeper meaning to me and doesn’t relate to my all that much. I didn’t like this photo much because my artists weren’t my first choice and didn’t interest me that much.
