Artist Statement

The subject of my image is a toy horse and the setting is a field or pasture behind the house. I just used my toy horse and my back yard. I made these images because I thought that it would look a real life scene which was the point of this project. I put everything in a certain way for a number of reasons, trying to follow the composition rules but also creating a realistic scene.

I used all 18 composition rules. I changed a lot in my project once I had a clearer understanding of the composition and focused more on the editing.

I liked these images because of my passion for horses which helped with how realistic they looked and made me have more interest in the project. The project relates to my life because I took pictures of horses and I spend all of my time out of school with horses. I think if I were to redo one thing in my project it would be that I wouldn’t want my house in the background and I'd like to learn more about editing to create better photos.
