artist statement

The project that we did was scratchboard design. The goal was to copy the photo of your choice onto a scratchboard.

The subject of my creation is a horse. I chose to make this specifically because I thought it would look cool on scratchboard because of the different values. The steps I went through in creating this project were going square by squares etching in the highlights.

At first my project was going to be of a dock but it evolved and ended up being a horse.

This project relates to me because it’s of my horse. If I were to do this project again I would do a better job analyzing the highlights.
