I’m calling this project, "in the city" because I drew this of a young girl and her mother in the city. The subject is a woman holding her young daughters hand in the city looking at over sexualized brands. I chose to create this specific work because I know that when I was younger I noticed how oversexualized brands could be. When I was creating this I had brands and advertising in mind.

For materials, I used pen and marker. I used pen and marker as a material because I wanted to have a simple design. While creating this work, I paid close attention to clean lines and accenuated writing by doing simple drawings and cursive letters. I wanted my artwork to look simple and I did that by doing most detail to the writing. To add interest to my composition, I used writing and drawing.

I like the way it's an obvious message and I am proud of the message I used. If I created another work like this I may compose the page differently. My work shows that I learned how to show a messsage through art.
