I’m calling this project, “Time Capsules” because these drawings are to show progress from the beginning to end of the year. The subject is a self portrait, my pre calculus binder and the front of the high school. I chose to create this specific work because it will easily show how my technique will improve this year. When I was creating this I had simplicity and basics in mind.

For materials, I used graphite. I used graphite as a material because I wanted colorless and simple drawings. I used a variety of techniques and methods including shading. I wanted my artwork to basic and I did that by not adding color or much detail.

I like the way it shows my progress from freshman year. However, I struggled with showing my abilities drawing the outside of the building. If I created another work like this I may spend more time on that drawing.
